Presentation of Women of Light Foundation in SERNAM, National Service for Women
Thursday, January 21 st 2010

For two hours, we shared our vision, programs and a small Kundalini Yoga practice with the female “ Women Area ” representatives of the 27 municipalities of the Santiago Metropolitan Region.

After the presentation, on Wednesday, February 10 th , we will sign the first cooperation agreement between SERNAM and Women of Light Foundation. At the same time, we will sign contracts with the different municipalities so that our programs became a part of their 2010 agenda.

We met with Ana Lucía Herrera, the President of the Transition Committee to the National Council of Women and Gender Equality of the Ecuadorian Government.
Friday, January 8 th of 2010, Quito

Nationwide is building a comprehensive protection plan in order to change the spirit of care for women. Those involved in the plan include the Ministries of Interior, Health, Education, Justice, Economic and Social Inclusion and the Councils of Women and Children & Adolescents.

Ana Lucia Herrera and Soledad Puente expressed their interest, within the Integral Protection Plan, to incorporate the activities proposed by the Women of Light Foundation for the self-awareness, assertiveness and self-assessment of Women through appropriate mechanisms based on the needs of the Plan. Therefore, Ana Lucia and Soledad have proposed a meeting with the plan's Technical Secretary in order to seek an agreement to work together.
The date of this meeting will be February 23 rd in Quito, Ecuador.

Tuesday, January 12th in Cayambe and Otavalo, Ecuador

We present ourselves with the mayors of Otavalo and Coyambe to tell them about our vision, projection and to establish partnership agreements.

Meeting at Sernam (Servicio Nacional de La Mujer)

On November 2009 we have met with Marta Godoy, SERNAM regional subdirector ( Govermental Service for Women), and with Claudia Dides, Director of the Program of Equity and Gender of FLACSO ( Latinamerican Faculty of Social Science). After this meeting, SERNAM has agreed to gather its 27 regional directors in a meeting on Janury 21th, where our Foundation will introduce the Yoga Programs for Women, exposed and taught by Nam Nidhan Kaur and Devinder Kaur.

The Foundation started its activities in Ecuador

In October 2009 The Foundation started its activities, visiting Cotacachi’s City Town Hall, in Ecuador, were we presented our program to help groups of women who are suffering domestic violence.
The Mayor, Alberto Anrrango, receive us, and we expect in Januay 2010 concrete the exchange of activities.
